Survey Monkey Responses So Far

Hi guys,

I've had a few solid responses on the survey monkey that I thought id post to show how our intervention impacted people/ how the visual response made viewers feel. Really happy with the way people are receiving our visual response, and amazed that the accumulated youtube views are over 160! Not to mention to social media exposure, hundreds of people have seen the 10s clip we circulated and are aware of the purpose of our investigation.

Question One:

Question Two:

[the 'other' response was that it made them feel "uncomfortable"]

Question Three:

Question Four:

"Please tell us what you think about what you saw (your interpretation/ idea of what it was about)"

Respondents said:

  • "the way that politicians use things that they know people feel happy and nostalgic about to try and evoke similar feelings in them for their campaign"
  • "How when we look back at stuff that was good and bad we tend to think only of the good things surrounding that rather than the bad."
  • "By beginning with creating a strong sense of nostalgia before incorporating harrowing political footage, I was forced to analyse my own relationship with nostalgia and the past, and how this influences my own politics. Therefore whilst the documentary took aim at right-wing nostalgia, it also included ideals that could be spread to any section of political thought."
  • "history and time goes in circles evil can be remembered as heroes sentimentality is a tool for keeping people lazy "
  • "Nostalgia as a political weapon"

Question Five:

"Did you learn anything?"

Respondents said:

  • "I learned how strong the right wing rhetoric of the past still is in today's political culture (especially through speeches)"
  • "Shamelessness of contemporary political culture raiding the past for malign purposes. "
  • "To be more aware politically about the information we are bombarded with, what is true and what is manipulated."
