What is Nostalgia to us, for now...

When we talk about nostalgia we face a concept we all feel and emotionally understand, it is tightly to our affections from childhood, some distant memories and even some memories we never lived but that yet live in our imaginary. Words failed us to give it a full, agreeable, collective sense. 

Therefore, as a group, we will start with a moldable, liquid definition, just like the times we live in. We decided to make it like this, to clarify that this definition will be constantly evolving because we are planning to submerge ourselves in a search of nostalgia in our daily lives, in our politics and so on and as we learn we will be shaping that definition. 

We will start with this:

Nostalgia: The feeling of connection with the past that affects our present actions and may change our future.

We state feeling rather explaining which type of feeling because that will limit the extent of our ideas too much. For example, if we refer to reminiscence we will be limiting nostalgia to a cultural sphere. If I refer to the feeling of longing we will be tackling only the personal type of nostalgia. We believe this course is an opportunity to explore a bigger sphere and more importantly is an opportunity to make connections between all those different spheres.
