After our individual intense research, we all came to understand how the politics of nostalgia works, at least in how we saw it.
Nostalgia is being weaponized by politicians to subconsciously affect the consumer and indoctrinate their views. This is because in today's world, mobilizing minds is more effective than mobilizing troops. The ends to this indoctrination is hostile, is confusing, is many times against our humanity ( brexit, trump... etc.) It is an inception of ideas based on a concept that is difficult to understand yet so personal, sensitive and close to our heart, NOSTALGIA. the abstractness of this concept allow it to be used by politicians to get to us in all our different realities.
Yet we ask, which past is it the one you wish to go back? Is it yours, is it mine? Is it to the idea of it? This itself is mad, is surreal, is unachievable. Not only because of the impossibility to stop the evolution of our societies, the world itself, the earth going around the Sun, we can not stop it. But also, the impossibility to agree in a past future, to actually create one objective truthful view of where we wish to go back if we had a time machine. Therefore, we ask, to which past you want to go back?
With this tone in mind, We expose, how a lie governs us, our ideals, our purposes, our latest fight of going back to the past. ( let's go back to british values/ make america great again.)
We wouldn't dare to suggest a solution, but if we did, we will probably say something like: The answer is not to retreat going back in our steps, the answer is to advance and in doing so, to reform, o grow, to adapt, to find our humanity again in further paths. It is to increase not to reduce, it is to open, not to close, it is to build not to destruct, it is to hold, not to throw.
