Films and Franchise Revivals
The revival of film franchises is something we see a lot and I reckon this hugely appeals to our nostalgia, particularly to childhood. Remaking a classic film or popular concept is almost a guarantee to rake in box office takings as a lot of people are very invested in and sometimes even obsessed with certain stories and characters. This creates a loyalty, that a lot of money can be made from, which is often born out of familiarity, associating a film with good times and good people or alternatively as a form of escapism. There’s been numerous reboots recently, often lots of horror but big ones that come to mind are Star Wars, Star Trek, Blade Runner and The Lion King. The Lion King in particular as a lot of people grew up exposed to Disney films and are very fond of them because in the same way gaming makes us nostalgic about a care-free childhood and creates a space that we’re not so much allowed to indulge in as adults, films can recapture that magic as well.

For found footage for our film, maybe some clips from classic films we all strongly remember from growing up would be good to include?
