Comments on previous R4 post

Just a few comments I had after listening and thinking about the Radio 4 post I put up last week.

I firstly found it interesting the acknowledgement of how heavily Winston Churchill featured in the propaganda machines of BOTH campaigns. With both harnessing his symbolic significance and suggesting he would have sympathised with their respective causes. The argument could be made that the Leave campaign were more successful with this tactic and it would be interesting to explore the social and political contextual reasons behind this.

Also discussed is the increased amount of films released in the time surrounding the referendum, for example, two based on Churchill and others about Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain. This could be an interesting area to explore in terms of the demographics who voted leave, why films of this ilk would appeal to them and whether there is any correlation that can be made within this.
