a nostalgic poem inspired by wikipeadia

Hi Guys, below I tried to write a poem of the ideas that were coming up while I read wikipedia's website on nostalgia, my first poem ever :) for our project! The Highlighted parts are actual quotes from Wiki, the rest are my own thoughts. Apologies if it is offensive, it was what came up.

Nostalgia, a form of melancholy said wikipedia,
Nostalgia, my warm Colombian  childhood, my china teen old good days,
They say it is usually a personal thing, yet I see you crave it just like me,
Coffee from Colombia  and Fire ball, the spirit I will get drunk on;
they say the  amygdala is the emotional seat of the brain, drinking them is now not the same.

They say nostalgia is triggered by the recollections of one's past.
Usually important events, people one cares about, and places where one has spent time.
Tell me then, why I crave a revolution like El Che, yet he passed long before I was born;
tell me then, why I crave a James Dean for myself and
tell me then why I crave to be in places I've never been before,
Is it biases of my memory? *1 All of this past is better than the present.

They punish it before*2 but now they say Occasional nostalgia is good for social connectedness.
social connectedness against them, yet you don't understand that they feel just like us,
Nostalgic... of a home you  have stole long ago, and once again.
They also said it improve moods, allow me to laugh, "hostile environment" contradicts it too.

Hostile environment policy, didn't it came with the hope of  making your country white again, did you feel nostalgia of something that was maybe never there? now we are the same.
They also said it Nostalgia serves as a coping mechanism and helps people to feel better about themselves, they forgot to put it also makes people feel superior.

The list of knowledge listed in wikipedia about nostalgia is long, so I scroll and scroll until I found Nostalgia as a deception, as a comfort and as a political tool.
Here I found my friends.
 As a deception it says
is the  'reflective nostalgia' which is critically aware of the mistakes of the past
that should not be taken back.
As a comfort, they explained
Reliving past memories may provide comfort and contribute to mental health.
They found that thinking about the past 'fondly'
actually increased perceptions of physical warmth.
but what past is it that we are thinking about?
is it the one where we were all free?

Finally, they say, nostalgia is used as a political tool
by invoking the idea of an idealized past,
politicians can turn the social anxieties and uncertainties
that make nostalgia especially attractive — and effective —
as a tool of political persuasion.
So be careful, my friend, when talking about nostalgia, who is the past better for?

*1 Could be considered prosthetic or post memory
*2The 1767 Dictionnaire de Musique by  Jean-Jacques Rousseau claims that Swiss mercenaries were threatened with severe punishment to prevent them from singing their Swiss songs.
